The Role
Magnificent is seeking a Fashion Assistant to support the styling, editorial, and production process across upcoming editorial projects, shoots, and issue development.
This role is suited to someone with a strong interest in fashion editorial, styling, creative direction, and visual culture. The Fashion Assistant will work closely with the editorial and creative team to help shape fashion stories that reflect the identity and aesthetic of Magnificent while supporting the practical organisation behind shoots and productions.
The position offers hands-on experience within an independent fashion publication and exposure to the creative and operational side of fashion editorial production.
Role Details
Duration: Minimum 3-month commitment, with potential for ongoing involvement
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week
Location: Remote and/or in-person (London-based preferred for shoot support)
Compensation: Unpaid position
Key Responsibilities
Assist with research and development for editorial fashion stories and creative concepts
Support styling preparation for shoots including sourcing clothing, accessories, and references
Assist with fashion pulls, showroom communication, and brand outreach
Help organise shoot logistics including call sheets, garment tracking, returns, and schedules
Support on-set styling and shoot production where required
Create moodboards and visual references aligned with the editorial direction of the magazine
Research emerging designers, brands, creatives, and cultural references
Maintain organisation of fashion credits, product information, and styling documentation
Assist with editorial planning and issue preparation
Support coverage and preparation for launches, creative events, and fashion-related projects
Desired Skills & Experience
Strong interest in fashion editorial, styling, photography, and visual storytelling
Understanding of contemporary fashion, emerging designers, and creative culture
Strong visual sensibility and attention to detail
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and timelines
Confident communication skills and professional approach to outreach
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a creative environment
Familiarity with editorial shoots, fashion styling processes, or production workflows is a plus
Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or presentation tools is beneficial
Ideal Candidate
You are visually driven, creatively curious, and deeply engaged with fashion and cultural storytelling. You are excited by independent publishing and enjoy both the conceptual and practical sides of fashion editorial production.
You have a strong eye for aesthetics, references, and styling, while also being highly organised and dependable behind the scenes.
